A new-build, residential development scheme to provide 38 mixed-tenure, new homes in Dollis Hill.
The development will comprise two apartment buildings and four semi-detached family homes arranged around a central ‘Green’. The proposals will replace the existing, sub-standard 1930’s tenement-type accommodation with new homes that fully meet the new Interim London Housing Design Guide and LB Brent’s sustainability standards.
A new 5-storey apartment block faces directly onto Coles Green Road, is designed in a restrained, symmetrical manner to enhance the setting of the adjacent, listed building. The location of the second apartment builidng and the 2-storey family houses behind, has been carefully considered to reflect the scale of the surrounding suburban form, and provide high levels of natural surveillance throughout.
The landscape, also designed by TM Architects, creates a series of shared amenity spaces, including informal playspace and community fruit trees and allotments to encourage residents to grow their own fruit and vegetables.
